Meet Our Doctors

Christopher W. Cain, DDS

Dr. Cain joined Endodontic Associates in 1993, and is an authorized provider for the Gentlewave procedure. He received his DDS from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1987 and his Certificate of Endodontics from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1993. Dr. Cain is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists and Southern Endodontic Study Group. 

He is Past President of the Greater Nashville Study Club and a former board member of Harding Academy in Nashville. Dr. Cain enjoys snow skiing, fly-fishing and traveling. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Nashville and donates his time to Nations Ministry and the Interfaith Dental Clinic. Dr. Cain is married to his wife Heather and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Mark Freeland, DDS

Dr. Mark Freeland is a Memphis native who joined Endodontic Associates in 1997. He received his B.S. in Biology from the University of the South, his D.D.S. from the University of Tennessee, and his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Florida. Dr. Freeland is married to Jenny and they have 2 sons, Andrew and Ned. Dr. Freeland was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 31 at St. George’s Episcopal Church for 10 years. He has served as an Executive Board Member for the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America. 

In his free time, Dr. Freeland enjoys skeet shooting, boating and hiking. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, Tennessee Dental Association as a former Board member and delegate, Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists as a former past president and the Nashville Dental Society as well as Southern Endodontic Study Group. Dr. Freeland and his wife are both volunteers at the Interfaith Dental Clinic.

Michael J. Murray, DMD

Dr. Murray has been with Endodontic Associates since 2003 and is certified in IV sedation. Dr. Murray graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in 1993 and is a 1998 graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He also served as President of the Tennessee Academy of Endodontists. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society and Southern Endodontic Study Group. He donates his time and services to the Interfaith Dental Clinic. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, he follows most sports and keeps up with Gator athletics. Dr. Murray is married with 3 girls.

DOCTOR FACTOID: Dr. Murray was a Lieutenant in the Navy and spent 1 year at Parris Island completing Advanced Residency in General Dentistry and 2 years on the USS Enterprise.

Clay Sparrow, DDS, MSD

DOCTOR FACTOID: He and his wife practiced dentistry for 2 years on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico after dental school.

Clay Sparrow, DDS, MSD

Dr. Sparrow has been with Endodontic Associates since 2008. After growing up in Stuttgart, Arkansas, he attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2000. He married a classmate from dental school, and in 2002 they moved to Nashville where Dr. Sparrow worked as a general dentist in private practice for 4 years before returning to complete his endodontic residency at VCU. 

He and his wife have a son and a daughter who take up most of their spare time. Dr. Sparrow loves to be outdoors. He is an active member of his church. He is also a member of the Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists, American Association of Endodontists and the Southern Endodontic Study Group where he served as the former Chair of the organization. He is active in volunteering his services for the Interfaith Dental Clinic.

Phillip Faucette, DDS

Dr. Faucette has been with Endodontic Associates, P.A. since 2014. He was born in Chattanooga and grew up in Marietta, GA. After attending the University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree, he returned to Tennessee to attend the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, graduating in 2011. After dental school, Dr. Faucette moved to Nashville to work as a general dentist, before deciding to continue his training as an endodontic resident at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2012-2014. He ultimately returned to the Nashville area after residency to join the practice.

Dr. Faucette, his wife, three children, and their goldendoodle live in Green Hills. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists, various local study clubs and volunteers for the Interfaith Dental Clinic. He is also very involved with the Southern Endodontic Study Group and is serving as Chair for 2023-2024 session.

Phillip Faucette, DDS

DOCTOR FACTOID: When Dr. Faucette isn’t spending time with his family or working, you can probably find him on the golf course, which is his favorite hobby. He is a diehard UGA football and Braves baseball fan as well.

Annie Jones, DDS, MSD

Annie Jones, DDS, MSD

Dr. Margaret “Annie” Jones is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in Old Hickory and attended Goodpasture Elementary and High School. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Microbiology. Dr. Jones graduated from dental school in 2009 from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She practiced general dentistry until 2013, and then pursued her specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is a member of the Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, Tennessee Academy of Endodontists, Southern Endodontic Study Group and the American Association of Endodontists. She has served on the Board as well as volunteering her time to Interfaith Dental Clinic. Dr. Jones is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She likes to travel with her fiancé in her spare time.

John Workman, DDS

Dr. Workman was born and raised in Nashville. He attended Franklin Road Academy for high school and then MTSU, where he earned his B.S. in Biology. After graduation he attended dental school at the University of Tennessee where he graduated in 2008. Dr. Workman practiced general dentistry in the Nashville area for six years prior to his endodontic residency at Boston University. He joined Endodontic Associates in 2016.

He is a member of the Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, Tennessee Academy of Endodontics , the American Association of Endodontists, Southern Endodontic Study Group and attends a local Spear Study Club. He served on the Board and volunteers his services for the Interfaith Dental Clinic. In his free time he enjoys traveling, watching football and being in the gym.

Austin Carr, DDS, MSD

Austin Carr, DDS, MSD

Dr. Austin Carr hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee. He then furthered his education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Following this, he undertook a one-year advanced education in general dentistry residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. Serving as a dental officer in the Air Force, he was stationed in South Korea and Washington D.C. Upon completing his military service, he enrolled in the University of Louisville’s graduate program in Endodontics.

He is a member of the Nashville Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, Tennessee Academy of Endodontics, American Association of Endodontists, Southern Endodontic Study Club and local study clubs. During his leisure time, he enjoys traveling, running and spending time with his family. Dr. Carr is an authorized provider for the Gentle Wave procedure.
